You may remember a couple months ago when I posted my first cover illustration for Ramen Music, I mentioned I’d already agreed to do another one for them. Well here it is! With some close up detail shots! You can see a slightly larger version of the main image over on my website.

Oh, also: In case you missed it yesterday, my awesome friend Maré Odomo recently interviewed me for this great new project he’s launching, PENCIL BAG. It’s a cartoonist interview site. I talk about the tools I use to make stuff, my studio set up, the food I eat and the music I listen to. Good stuff.

Work in progress.

Work in progress.

Little known fact: In 2008 I was hired to draw something for Ani DiFranco / Righteous Babe Records. I’ve never really listened to any of her music and I don’t actually know if the illustration was ever used for anything (I think the plan was for it to go on some merch?), but they paid me so I was happy.
Another fact: I was once almost given a sign artist job at a Whole Foods in NYC based solely on the fact that I had previously been hired by Ani DiFranco.
Anyways, this was one of the ideas I sketched out that didn’t end up getting used. It was my favorite.
